Overview

Prokevin Tex is a Romanian manufacturer of work uniforms, HORECA and healthcare wear, and high-visibility protective equipment. They make the clothes workers actually wear in construction sites, hotel kitchens, hospital wards, and industrial workshops — plus they handle the personalisation (embroidery, heat transfer, screen print, sublimation) in-house. They needed a real online catalog that could represent 129 products across 9 taxonomies, let buyers filter by size and colour and use-case, take payment properly, and explain four different personalisation services without confusing anyone. We built it from scratch as a custom ecommerce experience.

The Challenge

B2B manufacturing ecommerce is a specific problem. The buyers aren't browsing for fun — they're purchasing gear for their teams. They need to find the right garment, in the right sizes (including XS through 5XL), in the right colour, in the right fabric, for the right use case (HORECA service vs construction site vs winter outdoor). A cluttered catalog kills the sale. A generic WooCommerce install doesn't give them enough filtering. A custom build that's too complex makes the admin unmanageable.

On top of that: Prokevin's real differentiator is their in-house personalisation — four different techniques (embroidery, heat transfer, screen print, sublimation), each suited to different use cases and order sizes. A buyer who needs 10 embroidered polo shirts doesn't want the same solution as a buyer who needs 500 sublimated sports jerseys. Before this project, none of this was presented online. Buyers had no way to understand the range, the personalisation options, or the difference between techniques without picking up the phone.

The Approach

We structured the catalog around 9 product categories that match how buyers actually think, not how the warehouse is organised:

  • Work Equipment (74 products — the core category)
  • HORECA (23 products — hotel, restaurant, catering)
  • High-Visibility (11 products — safety gear)
  • Winter (5 products — cold-weather outerwear)
  • Eco (4 products — sustainable materials)
  • Sport & Care (4 products — healthcare and athletics)
  • Summer (4 products — hot-weather gear)
  • Bags & Accessories (3 products)
  • New Arrivals

Then we built advanced filters on top of this structure: price range (4 to 250 lei), sizes from XS to 5XL plus children's sizing, 100+ color variations, and multiple sort orders. A buyer arriving from Google for "uniforma bucătar" can land on the HORECA category, filter to chef whites in their size, pick the right colour, and add to cart — in under a minute.

For personalization, we created four dedicated service pages that explain each technique with the same structure: what it is, what fabrics it works on, what minimum run sizes make sense, what it costs relative to the others, and when to choose it over the alternatives. This turns four competing services into a decision tree the buyer can actually use.

The Solution

  • Custom-built ecommerce (prokevin-tex) — built on WooCommerce as the commerce engine with a fully custom theme on top
  • 129 products across 9 taxonomies — organised, categorised, filter-ready
  • Advanced catalog filters:
    • Price range selector (4–250 lei) with live update
    • Size filters from XS to 5XL plus kids' sizes
    • Color filters with 100+ variations
    • Sort options: popularity, newest, price ascending, price descending, A–Z
  • Four personalization service pages — embroidery, heat transfer, screen print, sublimation — each with dedicated explanatory content
  • Stripe checkout supporting Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal
  • Size guide with measurement instructions and conversion tables
  • Returns and refunds page with clear 14-day policy
  • FAQ page addressing the most common pre-purchase questions
  • Certifications page showing safety and quality certifications
  • Three written client case studies with attribution — real companies, real photos
  • Lazy-loading throughout the product grid
  • Custom "Instrument Sans" display typeface for headlines
  • Professional product photography on white backgrounds paired with lifestyle process shots
  • Deep forest green (#1B4D3E) primary brand colour — workwear-appropriate, serious

Key Moments

The filter depth

Most WooCommerce sites ship with two filter types: category and price. That's not enough for B2B workwear. We added size (including kids' sizes, because restaurants sometimes need children's uniforms for youth catering), colour (with visible swatches), and a proper price range selector with live update. A buyer can narrow 129 products down to the exact subset they care about in under 10 seconds.

The personalization decision matrix

Prokevin has four different personalization techniques. We built a comparison structure where each service has the same fields — what fabrics it works on, what run sizes make sense, what it costs relative to the others, when to pick it over alternatives. A buyer who doesn't know whether they need embroidery or heat transfer can now read both pages in 3 minutes and make an informed decision.

Stripe with every payment method

Romanian B2B buyers are surprisingly diverse in payment preferences. Some want Visa. Some want Google Pay on a phone. Some are multinational companies that default to PayPal. We enabled all of them at checkout, without adding friction. One-click checkout for returning customers. Guest checkout for first-timers. Nothing in the way of the sale.

Real client case studies with attribution

A lot of B2B sites have a "testimonials" section with generic quotes. Prokevin has three written case studies with the client company named, a photo of the delivered garments, and the specific use case. This is the kind of proof that B2B buyers want — they're not looking for five-star ratings, they're looking for "did this manufacturer deliver for someone like me."

The Stack

Custom ecommerce build (WooCommerce engine + custom theme, prokevin-tex)
Custom "Instrument Sans" display typeface
CSS variable theming (lightweight, no framework)
Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal)
Advanced product filters (price range, size, colour)
Lazy-loading throughout
Schema.org product markup

The Result

A real ecommerce catalog for a real manufacturer. 129 products live. Filters that actually work. Payment that doesn't fail. Four personalization services explained clearly enough that buyers can self-serve. The client team maintains the catalog themselves — adding new products, updating prices, managing variants — without ever needing to touch code or layout.
