Overview

Angajări Șoferi is a job platform that connects Romanian professional drivers with the transport companies recruiting them. Drivers search and filter listings. Companies publish their own vacancies, and the platform does not intermediate the hiring itself. Around it sits a network of more than 10 Facebook groups with a combined membership of over 300,000. We built it as a specialist product: custom content types, faceted filtering, user accounts, and a workflow that lets companies publish directly.

The Challenge

Driver vacancies were scattered across Facebook groups, general classified sites and assorted intermediaries. On the general sites, drivers are one category among many: truck jobs sit alongside office jobs, with no way to filter on the things that actually decide the role — licence category (B, BE, C, CE, D, DE), vehicle or trailer type (refrigerated, container, tandem, minibus), work pattern (round trip, domestic, international) or location.

A generic job-board module would not have covered those requirements without substantial customisation. The project needed a platform built for this market: one that uses the terminology and criteria drivers already work with, lets companies publish their own vacancies, and sits alongside the social channels where drivers actually spend their time.

The Approach

The quick option would have been to install a job-board plugin and style it. We did not take it. The plugins we assessed are built for general hiring and did not provide the taxonomy and relationship structure this project required. So we modelled the domain from scratch — custom content types, taxonomies and relationships for driver profiles, company profiles and job listings — using JetEngine to administer that structure.

That came with a practical benefit: the client can update the routine categories himself. A new licence category is a field change in the admin. A new work pattern is the same. Neither needs a technical request.

The Solution

  • Custom content types for drivers, companies and job listings — modelled from scratch for this market
  • Custom taxonomies for licence category (B, BE, C, CE, D, DE), vehicle or trailer type — the interface keeps the Romanian labels drivers use (camion, prelată, frigorific, BOX, container, tandem, basculă, microbuz) — work pattern (round trip, domestic, international), transport type (goods, passengers, mixed) and location
  • Faceted filtering — drivers combine filters across the five taxonomies and results update as they go
  • Listing cards carrying the company logo, vehicle-type icon, licence marker, location label and work pattern — built so the essentials are visible in the results list, without opening the ad
  • Favourites held in the browser's local storage — drivers save listings without an account
  • Company accounts and a direct publishing workflow — transport companies log in, create a company profile and publish listings themselves
  • Company directory — more than 23 companies listed at launch
  • "Load more" pagination instead of continuous scroll — the driver keeps control and results load gradually
  • Custom brand typefaces, served from the site's own infrastructure ("Angajari-Bold", "Angajari-ExtraBold", "AS-medium")
  • Editorial/blog section for industry content
  • Schema.org structured data for Organization and EmploymentAgency
  • Google Analytics 4 and Facebook Pixel integration

Key Moments

The taxonomy design

Most job boards let you filter on two things: category and location. Angajări Șoferi filters on five: licence category, vehicle type, work pattern, transport type and location. More usefully, those filters combine. A driver can ask for "CE licence + refrigerated + international + round trip + leaving from Cluj" and see only the listings that match. That is the order in which drivers compare offers, and the filters follow it rather than imposing their own.

The build-versus-buy decision

We did not start from a job-board plugin. Because the structure was modelled from scratch, the client administers the routine categories himself — new licence categories, new work patterns, new vehicle types — straight from the admin, without a technical request for each change. That does not mean every new feature arrives without development; it means day-to-day management is not tied to us.

The distribution strategy

The platform does not rely on SEO alone. A network of more than 10 Facebook groups, with a combined membership of over 300,000, sits around it. New listings are distributed to the groups, and the discussion there brings drivers back to the platform.

Favourites without accounts

Most platforms make you register before you can save anything. This one does not. A driver can save listings on a first visit and find them again on returning: they are held in the browser's local storage, so the list stays available on the same device and browser for as long as the local data is not cleared. A small thing, but it changes how the platform feels to use.

Technology

Custom data model · Domain modelled from scratch
Content types, taxonomies and relationships configured for the project
JetEngine · Faceted filters with dynamic updates
Custom typefaces served from the site's own infrastructure
Favourites in the browser's local storage
Schema.org (Organization, EmploymentAgency)
LiteSpeed Cache · GA4 · Facebook Pixel

The Result

A live, fully operational platform behind the largest community of professional drivers in Romania. At launch, the directory listed more than 23 transport companies, and the associated network ran to more than 10 Facebook groups. Listings read at a glance, filters respond immediately, and when a new category appears the client adds it himself from the admin.
